Christmas Tree Trail Lighting and Celebration
November 27 @ 4:00 pm - 10:00 pm
Kick off the Holiday Season on the SouthSide November 27th at 4pm
Join us on Small Business Saturday, November 27th at 4pm for the kick off of the holiday season in South Bethlehem! This year we are thrilled to bring back the Christmas Tree Trail – a trail throughout the Downtown featuring 20+ vibrantly decorated Christmas Trees! Guests can select their favorite tree on our website for a chance to win a $100 gift card to the merchant winner of the Christmas Tree Trail! The winner will be selected Saturday, December 18th on our Facebook page(@SouthSideArtsDistrict).
Last year’s trail included an upside-down tree at The Flying V Poutinerie (201 E. 3rd Street), a tree of bourbon barrels at Social Still (530 E. 3rd Street) or an industrial metal tree with a custom Bethlehem Steel topper at the National Museum of Industrial History (602 E. 2nd Street) to name a few! We can’t wait to see what’s in store this year!
“This trail was something we started last year during the pandemic. We wanted to offer a safe, festive and above all free activity for families in the Lehigh Valley. We know there are plenty of Christmas attractions to choose from this time of year, but it was really important to us to offer families an inexpensive night out, as we were navigating a difficult economy last year, and today we’re doing it again. It was so successful and fun, we decided to make it a new Christmas tradition in South Bethlehem,” said Missy Hartney, former Downtown Manager and now avid volunteer for the Arts District. “Hopefully folks will get to know our merchants along the way, or perhaps stop for a cup of coffee, but the mission above all is to enjoy the holiday season downtown.”
Patrons can grab a copy of the map at the official “Trail Lighting Celebration” at 4pm on Saturday, November 27th in the SouthSide. “A Christmasy Christmas in the Christmas City” by the Touchstone Theatre/Moravian University MFA students will be performed at 4pm, followed by a countdown to light the trail. Then a special performance of holiday classics from the Swing Time Dolls from 4:30pm – 5:30pm.
Complimentary hot chocolate will be available by Roasted Bethlehem. Guests are encouraged to grab a map and vote for their favorite tree, with more live music from:
5:30pm – 7:30pm | Leah Fuls performing at Dinky’s Ice Cream Parlor
6pm – 8pm | Tea for Two performing at Lara Bly Designs
6pm – 8pm | Doug Kaetz performing at Five Maidens Cider House
The celebration starts at 4pm sharp at 324 S. New Street and the Greenway, Saturday November 27th! Guests are encouraged to park in the parking garage at 324 S. New Street.
