Literary Event: “Showcase at the Lodge”

November 7 @ 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM

Nov. 7 FB Literary Lodge
Calling all writers and lovers of the written word!
Join the Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Arts (Charter Arts) Literary Arts Department for a celebration of creativity and storytelling at its “Showcase at the Lodge” event on Friday, November 7th from 6-8 PM at Cafe the Lodge in South Bethlehem.
Student literary artists share compelling original written work from poetry and prose to short stories and spoken word. There is also an Open Mic section, where community members of all ages join in to share their work as well. This is a FREE event as part of the Southside Arts District’s First Friday celebration, but guests are encouraged to order from the cafe’s menu or donate to the organization.
Students of the school’s literary arts department engage in a comprehensive writing curriculum with courses such as Character Development, Exploration of Modernism & Postmodernism, Children’s Literature, Film Studies, Exploration of the Romantic Style, Media Studies, and more.
Literary Arts Artistic Director, Kristin Liemberger, shares: “Students write and analyze creatively and critically, experimenting with their own creative voices in the construction, production, and performance of original works. This intensive program provides students with a rigorous curriculum rooted in the creative process while reinforcing that reading, writing, film, and the spoken word are integral parts of the history and advancement of society.”
Prospective students and families who are interested in learning more about the literary arts program and the school are invited to attend an upcoming information session or the school’s Fall Open House Event on December 6th. For more information, visit www.CharterArts.org.
