Spring on the SouthSide – Art, Health, & Wellness Celebration on the Bethlehem Greenway

Welcome to Spring on the SouthSide: Art, Health, & Wellness Celebration!
Join us for an afternoon spent outdoors in Bethlehem, PA filled with creative activities, fitness, and self-care on the South Bethlehem Greenway.
Discover community art through a mural and artswalk down the Greenway, get your groove on with free yoga and zumba classes, and enjoy live music and delicious food. Bring the little ones to enjoy a readalong plus plant & book giveaway and other fun family-friendly activities, brought to you by St. Luke’s University Health Network and our other SouthSide Art District community partners! Don’t miss out on this opportunity to rejuvenate your mind, body, and get your creative juices flowing!
Spring on the SouthSide will kick off at 12:00 PM behind Touchstone Theatre at 321 E 4th St, Bethlehem, PA 18015 with an opening ceremony.
Activities & live music will begin at 12:30 PM on the Greenway at Adams, Webster, and Taylor Streets.
Parking, & Access
Convenient parking for Spring on the SouthSide is available in the New St. Parking Garage, located at 324 S. New Street, Bethlehem, PA 18015.
From the parking garage, it is a 3-6 minute walk to activities by way of the South Bethlehem Greenway.
The entrance to the Greenway is located directly across the street from the parking garage.
Meter parking is available on 3rd & 4th Streets, and Mechanic Street.

Spring on the SouthSide Kick Off: Touchstonium Flos Mural Dedication & Bodies of Knowledge Exhibition Introduction
Location: Touchstone Theatre, 321 E 4th St, Bethlehem, PA 18015.
Join us as we kick off Spring on the SouthSide with the dedication of Touchstone Theatre’s new mural: Touchstonium Flos, by artist Monica Salazar, and the introduction of Lehigh University Art Galleries latest Greenway Exhibition, Bodies of Knowledge.
Accessible Entrance to Spring on the SouthSide Kick Off:
There is an accessible entrance to the Spring on the SouthSide kick off ceremony via Touchstone Theatre driveway on 4th Street. After the ceremony, activities on the Greenway can be accessed via the sidewalk at 4th & Taylor Streets or the sidewalk at 4th & Polk Streets. Rosie’s Special Gift – Children’s Read-Along, Book & Plant Giveaway Activity
Location:The Greenway between Adams/Webster Streets
Children and families are invited to join Veronica Moore (AKA, Brownskin Plant Mama) in a heartwarming read along of her of her illustrated children’s book “Rosie’s Special Gift,” a story about the unique bond between a mother and daughter as they explore the wonders of gardening and taking care of plants together. As they tend to their growing green things, Rosie and her mom uncover lessons about kindness, generosity, and the importance of community. The first 25 families to register for the activity will receive a free copy of “Rosie’s Special Gift” plus a nursery plant to take home!

Join Lehigh Valley Girls Rock and Emma Bockrath for a 20 minute Mini Songwriting Workshop! Learn about songwriting basics and create a song in real time with other workshop participants! Get a small glimpse of the magic that happens at LVGR’s annual Get LOUD Camp for girls, trans, and non-binary youth ages 10-17. Camp will be held this year July 8-13. Only 15 spots available at each songwriting workshop session.

Ceramic Pendant Painting Activity ($10 per pendant)
Color Me Mine Lehigh Valley is delighted to offer a fun and personalized art-making experience for festival attendees of all ages to enjoy! Stop by our table to paint and decorate your own ceramic pendant. Pendants are $10 each to decorate and will be available to pick up at Color Me Mine Lehigh Valley 1-2 weeks after they are fired in the kiln to make your special design permanent! Available while supplies lasts!

Bodies of Knowledge Guided Artswalk Tour with Lehigh University Art Galleries

Presented in partnership with Southside Arts District, Lehigh University Art Galleries hosts outdoor exhibitions on the South Bethlehem Greenway featuring reproductions of work from the Bodies of Knowledge exhibition, paired with works of art submitted by community members.
Bodies of Knowledge is a multi-site art exhibition that explores the many roles that the human body takes in shaping and creating knowledge. Enjoy a guided tour of the exhibition on the Greenway during Spring on the SouthSide at 1:00 PM or 2:00 PM and discover the story behind each piece in the exhibition.
Comfortable walking shoes are recommended for this activity.
