Really Free: Community Celebration and Closing Reception
December 7 @ 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM
Join us to bid farewell to Really Free: The Radical Art of Nellie Mae Rowe before it heads to the California African American Museum, the next stop on its national tour! We’ll celebrate the culmination of LUAG’s Mobile ArtLab multi-week collaborative community project inspired by Rowe’s colorful and vibrant work. Dozens of community members contributed to the celebratory art installation that will decorate a portion of LUAG’s Upper Gallery, so be sure to come and see it for yourself!
Then take some time to explore the exhibition, participate in hands-on artmaking activities with local teaching artists Rei Ukon ’21 and Rebecca Kelly, sing along with the Lehigh Valley Queer Quoir, enjoy locally-made baked goods by From Lino, and listen to the soothing sounds of contemporary cellist Dan Kassel. This free, drop-in event is for all ages. All are welcome, and we can’t wait to celebrate with you.

An ASL (American Sign Language) interpreter will be in attendance and available as a floating interpreter for the duration of the reception.
