Family Workshop: Join Lehigh University Art Galleries (LUAG) for a hands-on still-life drawing workshop that features works from the permanent collection at the Kemerer Museum. In conjunction with the exhibition Thinking through Drawing: Works on Paper, Drawings, and Sketchbooks from the Collection and Community on view at LUAG, participants will be encouraged to experiment with a variety of tools and techniques to strengthen their observational skills. Trace monoprinting is a simple low tech process that is a hybrid between drawing and printmaking that allows you to transfer an image from one surface to another. In this simple, accessible process, paper is positioned over a carbon sheet allowing the artist to draw on the backside of the paper with a variety of tools while creating a mirror image on the opposite side. Paul Walsh holds his Masters in English Literature and is in his final year as a doctoral student in the field of education.
