Winter Restaurant Week – Day 5, 6 and 7

I must admit – It’s a tough job mapping out all these meals. Each day has been a smorgasbord of yum. And with 3 hours of FREE PARKING SATURDAY from MobileNOW! And the Bethlehem Parking Authority – I need to make sure I get this right.

Day 5 – Friday

For lunch I’m heading to one of my favorite SouthSide eateries Café the Lodge. In the spring and summer their outdoor area is a gorgeous secret sanctuary off the Greenway, and their food is divine. My absolute favorite is to stop by in the morning for a breakfast sandwich, but today calls for their Restaurant Week Lunch Special – Bacon Jalapeno Mac & Cheese. A spicy, savory number perfect for a winter Friday. Not to mention topping off the meal with their bread pudding and white chocolate, raspberry sauce. Maybe I can cuddle up and take a nap somewhere after – aww that would be perfect.

Tonight, for dinner, it’s none other than Emeril’s Burgers and More. As soon as I saw they were offering a Mint Chocolate Chip Milk Shake – I knew I wanted to visit them for dinner. This kind of meal takes time. Time required on a Friday night, to savor this sock hop 2.0 meal. For the first course I going with their Buffalo Chicken Dip. I’m curious to see how Emeril can take this football classic to the next level. For the main event I plan to order the Grilled Portobello-Veggie Burger. I absolutely love mushrooms – and this sandwich is sure to be scrumptious. And lastly the coup de grace – my mint chocolate chip milk shake. I may order two.

Day 6 – Saturday

La Lupita is quite possibly my favorite restaurant in the Lehigh Valley. Their homemade salsa and guacamole are delish – but my all-time favorite – The Mexican Flag is part of their Restaurant Week menu – a cheese enchilada, chicken enchilada and beef enchilada – all served in a different colored sauce to make it look like the Mexican Flag. It covers all the bases and gives you a taste of each flavor. For an appetizer I’ll definitely ordering the Chicken Tortilla Soup – not only because the forecast calls for rain – but it’s exquisite. Homemade tortilla strips, lime, cilantro over shredded chicken breasts, corn and beans in a tomato-based soup. Add a dollop of sour cream and avocado and its pure perfection. Don’t forget to download the MobileNOW app to enjoy three hours of free parking!!

Day 7 – Sunday

Save the best for last – Danielle’s Cafeteria. Danielle has her entire menu as part of her special for Restaurant Week, offering us 10% off any two entrees. Her menu includes such favorites as Baked Hennessy BBQ Wings and Caribbean Jerk Chicken and Deep-Fried Jerk Turkey Wings. For sides Fired Cabbage, Rice N’ Peas – or my personal favorite Tuna Macaroni Salad. But call first – Danielle is a true artist in the kitchen and cooks up a storm of amazing every day. Her menu is forever evolving with new, fresh and completely delicious options – sure to make your mouth water and keep you coming back for more and more.

Fortunately, you don’t need Restaurant Week to go to all these fine places. Their open for business anytime your tummy calls. Until Summer Restaurant Week, I’m Missy Hartney, the Downtown Manager signing off and opening a membership at Steel Fitness to begin the pain staking task of fitting into my pants again.

Until next time, peace out club scout.
